Emily Dooley

Emily Dooley is a Master's of Applied Anthropology student at the University of Maryland. Emily studies the negotiations and relationships between indigenous groups and large institutions, this research focuses on major environmental NGOs and education systems. During the Summer of 2016 her Master's research took place in the Northwest Amazon working with the Universidade do Estado do Amazonas in the municipality of Sao Gabriel da Cachoeira. This research focused on the ways in which indigenous peoples and students exist within the education system and the contentions that occur within these interactions, specifically considering the role of technology and policy.
